Preparing to launch Europa Clipper to explore Europa's moon, searching for life.
NASA is set to launch the Europa Clipper spacecraft on October 10, 2024, with a destination to Jupiter's moon Europa, aiming to search for life.
NASA's largest planetary probe ever, the Europa Clipper, is scheduled to launch on October 10, 2024, to reach one of Jupiter's moons, Europa, with the goal of finding out if the icy moon has the ingredients needed to support life.
The Europa Clipper spacecraft is about 16 feet (5 meters) tall, with its solar panels fully extended, and measures about 30.5 meters (108.8 feet) wide, and weighs about 7,200 pounds (3,240 kilograms) without fuel. It will launch on a SpaceX Falcon Heavy rocket from NASA's Kennedy Space Center in Florida, United States.
However, it may take more than ten years to get the scientific results of this mission, as it is expected to take about five years to reach Europa and about 10 years to get enough scientific data.
